A+ for Arbonne

Using good quality makeup on my skin, especially as a teenager who struggles with the usual acne and blotchiness, has always been very important to me. I have never worn cheap drugstore makeup because I believe investing in high quality makeup (doesn’t mean it has to be expensive) is healthier and more gentle on skin, everyone should do it! Therefore, this article has been particularly fun to work on because I was fortunate enough to receive a number of beautiful cosmetics generously provided by Arbonne to experiment with and sample.     For those who don’t know Arbonne, it is a company specializing in not just beauty and makeup, but also bath and body, nutrition and skincare products. Arbonne prides itself on “transform[ing] lives through pure, botanically based ingredients in scientifically tested products; a pure, healthy lifestyle; and the pure joy of helping others.” Its mission “is to always improve and evaluate our ingredient policy as an ever evolving standard of excellence.” And for all you animal lovers out there, yes this brand is completely cruelty free and recognized by PETA (“Beauty without Bunnies”).

While this brand may not be well known among young adults and teens, Arbonne is a successful and well known luxury brand and is interested in growing its young adult and teen market through efforts with bloggers like myself to get the message out about their brand and makeup. Based on my experience sampling the makeup, I find the products to be high quality and live up to the hype. It’s clear why this brand has a great reputation within the high quality makeup community.

Though the brand is a little more pricey than probably most teenagers can afford, if you are able to buy a few select products I definitely suggest doing that. I promise you that your skin will thank you after you try this gentle, flower based makeup line.

To test out all of my amazing products, I brought the testers on vacation with me this past week… I knew I was going to get glam on the trip.  Below is an up close look at my finished look using almost all Arbonne products. Now let me break down each product used to achieve this glowing look.

I started with the  Primer (key ingredients of green tea and grape seed) which I felt visually diminished my pores for a smooth surface and base for the next layer of makeup. Next I moved into the Liquid Foundation (key ingredients of buddleja davidii extract, marrubium vulgare extract) in the tone “Golden Beige” and what I love about this foundation is not only the fact that it feels light and moisturizes my skin but also has a sun protection of level 15! I used my own Clinique setting powder for the next step.

For the eyes, I used Arbonne It’s all in the Eyes, Eye Shadow Volume 1 (key ingredient hibiscus flower extract) which helped me achieve my vibrant glowy eyes. These eyeshadows come in 24 different shades from shimmery ones to matte!

To define my eyes more I used Its a Fine Line Eyeliner Pencil (key ingredients hibiscus flower extract, cupuacu butter) and what I love about this product is the creamy feel and how long it stays on without smudging. To finish my look I applied It’s a Long Story Mascara (key ingredients tea extract, bamboo extract) to glam up the look. Love this formula because it’s water resistant and long wearing.

I was thrilled with this look that Arbonne helped me create! One of the best parts of this fab look, was that I created it with high quality products that are healthy for my skin too.  When I took my makeup off at night my skin didn’t feel greasy or weighted down with product in my pores. I truly believe that once you try these clinically tested products you won’t look back. Your skin will thank you, and then you can thank me. 🙂
